Consistency is Key: the importance of showing up

Consistency is Key: the Importance of Showing Up

This week has been a bit of a clusterfuck for me, so I’m not really feeling all that creative or inspired to write.

Which is why I’m going to keep today’s post short and sweet.

That said, despite not being in the mood, I still showed up. I sat down at my desk, opened a new Google Doc, and let the words come and go as they pleased. There may only be a few sentences, but that’s not the point.

Consistency is key.

It doesn’t matter what it is – trying to learn something new, building positive behaviours and habits, working to improve a not-so-great skill, whatever – it’s all about showing up and putting in the work.

Especially when you don’t want to.

With that in mind, I’ll leave with five quotes to ponder:

“It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer.”

Albert Einstein

“It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives. It’s what we do consistently.”

Tony Robbins

“I accumulated small but consistent habits that ultimately led to results that were unimaginable when I started.”

James Clear

“Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.”

Robert Collier

“Long-term consistency beats short-term intensity.”

Bruce Lee

Thanks for reading, folks.
